Currently I am a Grant Writer at J. O’Connell & Associates in Clarence, NY. Prior to taking on that position, I served as a Volunteer Digital Marketer and Writer for EYEJ: Empowering Youth, Exploring Justice, a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit in Cleveland, Ohio. You can view samples of my work in my portfolio.
My personal philosophy—founded by my family, friends, and education—can be summarized with this Churchill quote: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” This “mission statement,” if you will, consistently informs my decision making both personally and professionally.
When I’m not working, I enjoy connecting old friends with new ones, scribbling messy lines over completed tasks on personal to-do lists, finding delicious breweries and restaurants with my girlfriend (Big Ditch is a personal favorite), working out at Revolution Buffalo, spending too much time and money at Barnes and Noble, and visiting old friends in Cleveland.
I made my way to Cleveland in August 2010 to study English at John Carroll University. I graduated in 2014 with a B.A., then stayed at John Carroll for two more years to earn my M.A. in English in May 2016. During my tenure as a graduate assistant, I was a First-Year Writing Instructor and worked in the Assessment Office.
Though my days as an English major are done, I’m still scribbling away on my blog. I generally write about writing (whether it’s related to grants or academia), literature, sports, and pop culture.
